We recognise the importance of providing a website that is accessible by all users. We are aware that some people with disabilities find using the internet difficult and we also know that many sites do not accommodate those with visual or other disabilities. With this foremost in our mind we have tried our very best to make this website as accessible as possible. An accessible website ensures that all visitors have the same user experience whether they use assisting technology or not. The Pixel Vector website meets the level 1 (and in part level 2) of the W3C's (Web Accessibility Initiative) Standards & Guidelines for creating accessible websites and the W3C Guidelines for correct HTML and CSS markup.

The Pixel Vector website has been optimised for and tested on the following Web Browsers; Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 (Windows), Mozilla Firefox 3 and 4 (Windows, Mac OSX), Apple Safari 4 & 5 (Windows, Mac OSX, iOS), Opera 10 (Windows, Max OSX), Google Chrome (Mac and Windows)

The following features to ensure the best use of our site by all of our users;

Structural Markup
Web pages on www.pixelvector.co.uk include 3 different navigational areas:

1. The top-level site navigation bar
2. Hyperlinks within the body of each page
3. The website footer

When CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are turned off by the browser or not applied to a document (when using a screen reader or some mobile devices for example), the 3 areas are displayed in the above order.

Images

1. Unless they are purely decorative items, all images used on this web site have suitable alt attributes
2. The content of the site remains usable/accessible with images turned off, unavailable or disabled by the browser

Movies, Flash & Animated Content

Where possible, non-Flash alternatives are provided for all functional elements where Flash is not installed and/or JavaScript is disabled.

Links

1. Links (Hyperlinks) are written in a manner that makes sense when read out of context
2. The first link in every document is "Jump to content"; which allows users to skip directly to what is considered the main section of the page (the content). We have implemented this feature in a way that it allows Internet Explorer users to tab through (past that target link)
3. URL's are permanent whenever possible

Forms

1. All form controls are appropriately and explicitly labeled
2. All form elements follow a logical tab sequence to ensure easy keyboard navigation
3. Any form validation routines do not rely on client-side scripts

Scripts

1. This website uses non-obtrusive client-side scripts
2. The content of this web site remains usable when JavaScript is not installed or turned off/disabled by the browser

Pop-up Windows

1. This website does not use pop-up windows

Visual design

1. This website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for visual layout. When CSS is disabled or turned off the site is still accessible and usable
2. This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers
3. This site makes use of JavaScript and AJAX Scripting Libraries for some visual elements. When JavaScript is disabled or turned off the site still functions properly
4. Any information conveyed through the use of color is also available without color (i.e. text based) where possible
