Little Heroes is a small cancer charity with a big heart. Their aim, through the simple act of giving, is to try to put a smile on the face of every child in the UK suffering from cancer - 50% of whom are aged under five. Smiling is a natural drug: it reduces blood pressure, boosts the immune system and releases endorphins - the body's natural painkillers. Through their work they realised that parents of cancer sufferers find talking to other parents facing the same emotional experience can be a real life line. So they approached Pixel Vector and asked us to add a parents' chatroom to their website . They came to the right place; we have particular expertise in developing social networking websites. What's more, we were so moved by the value of their work, we donated the chatroom to the charity. Now well-established, it's helped 'Little Heroes' to take a step closer to their goals and, in a small but significant way, is helping parents cope with the trauma of childhood cancer.
